Nostalgia = Distortion: An American Werewolf in London

An American Werewolf in London

I didn’t see this movie when it was new as I always assumed it was some kind of a spoof.  But I saw it in my 20s on Comedy Central where I probably wouldn’t have watched it at all except …

Nostalgia Equals Distortion – Fruit Pies

One Response to Nostalgia Equals Distortion – Fruit Pies

  1. Nick Marino says:

Not to mention that they’re made with animal shortening a.k.a. beef fat! As a kid, one of my favorite things to do was prove my friends wrong about that. I’d tell them “Beef Fat” was one of the ingredients and they’d swear it wasn’t possible until I showed them the ingredients on the wrapper. At some point in the past 15 years they switched the ingredient name to “Animal Shortening” but it’s the same thing as far as I know.

I did some searching and apparently the fruit pies are different under Hostess’s new management (the company closed down at the end of 2012, new owners re-opened it in summer 2013). Everybody seems to be complaining about the new crust being softer, thinner, and wetter than the original. Softer. Thinner. Wetter.

Nostalgia Equals Distortion – Skittles

I first had Skittles in the late 1980s.  My mom had bought them as Halloween candy & we never had enough trick-or-treaters to run out of candy, so me & my siblings got the leftovers.  A year or two later …
