     Yeah, I don’t think it’s really the computer as much as me not knowing how to use the damn software. I mean clearly when I cut five minutes out of a video it’s not supposed to be ten times the size of the original. I am ending up with these ten gig files. I guess I should get a book on Adobe Premiere (the software I just started using, mainly because it can open Quicktime files & that’s the native format of my camera & when I upload actual QT files to YouYube it mis-aligns the audio (& it tells me it’s a known problem when uploading the format)).

       the footage you shot of us at Slim’s is about 40min and sits at 8gig. So if you’re not exaggerating, then yeah you need to do soemthing about your preferences.

         I have an 11 minute one from Monday that is 2.75 gigs edited. Unedited it is 258 megs. So yeah, I’m doing something wrong for sure.

   kickstarter is a good way for pre-sales probably. it’s how i like to think of it.

     Yeah, it’s weird to me how people are excited about helping on Kickstarter in a way they wouldn’t be about pre-sales. I do think it’s an interesting idea for me personally where I could do something in the future where I would maybe use it to decide if a CD should have a physical version or not. If I generate $1000 (basically 100 pre-sales) then there will be a CD & if not it will be digital only. I haven’t done this yet, but I think it might be what I start doing.

   if fans wanted to support you, they’d buy the CDs to begin with and thus you wouldn’t need something like kickstart. not you specifically. which is why things like kickstart works great for people with 1000s of fans to begin with but not so great for people with only 100′s and 20 of them families and friends.

   I bet you’d get more responses from people if you were trying to raise money for grad school though.

     Well, I think the thing with how Kickstarter really works is somehow people’s relatives feel better giving $100 through that than just handing it over. Public Enemy’s Kickstarter campaign failed & I would think they are in the 1000s of fans category even today. But Kickstarter rejected my pre-selling keychains campaign. Which is funny to me.

     I think I could learn more in grade school than grad school at this point.

       that’s where you learn to make friends and connections so you’re probably right. although you’d probably also stop being one of dem dere creative types as a result
