Just Lost Kisses #10 left to get the panels & timing figured out for the DVD. Then I’ll need to do some stuff for the cover & menus. Almost done.
I practiced guitar for the first time in 2009 in preparation for the tour. I think sometimes stepping away for a couple months actually makes me better, which is messed up.
So I finished all the “songs” for the Lost Kisses soundtrack. I guess I may eventually do some kind of minor release of the audio for it. The unedited tracks are probably over a CD’s worth of material. Pure drone, most of the tracks have the only variation created by your mind while listening. Music isn’t supposed to be the focus though, is it?
Four more episodes I need to finish exporting the single cells for & get the timing of. Maybe I’ll finish tonight. Then I need to work on the art for the menu pages.
Remora tour starts next Friday. I guess I should practice between now & then.
Alright, so those following my DVD cartoon fiasco. I’ve come to the conclusion I can’t create what I’m trying to on my machine with any of the seven softwares I have tried. Sonic Foundry Vegas really seemed like it was going to work, but when I exported my video it was at 2 gigs a minute & that can’t be right. So the guy who’s doing the DVD authoring is going to do this part too, which is okay I guess because it’s a good idea to have someone other than me have the final say in how fast the frames are moving. But it just kinda sucks how long it took me wasting time for nothing to work. I would’ve been finished with the whole project if it wasn’t for all the delays trying software that didn’t work. So tomorrow I have to record thirteen drones for the DVD, finish exporting ten videos frame by frame, design the menu pages, get templates for art & figure out where I want to go for manufacturing. This is the problem with releasing something on my own label. By the time something is done I am so fed up with it that I’m not excited about it at all. When someone else is involved I lose half the headaches. Of course I gain new ones. After I’m done with this I have a bunch of other stuff I want done before my tour starts next Friday, but we’ll see what happens.
I need to find something that calms me down, it seems like all my hobbies rev me up instead of relaxing me. Maybe I should start doing paintings of unicorns for the next Hotel Hotel album cover.
Okay, so let me explain my problem. I’m trying to make my comics into cartoons for a DVD. Both Quicktime Pro & Windows Movie Maker add some visual noise to the images. Does anyone have another software they could test the stuff on for me to see if it creates the same little digital crap? I hate to buy another software if it’s going to be giving me the same unsatisfactory results. Basically I’m creating a slide show (various time on each slide, or if it can read moving gifs, that’s ideal) & adding audio, so you’d think any software would work. I’m using a PC. That’s the info I have for you.
Working on the comics & I forgot how long it takes to scan & clean up & place things. About 6 hours an issue, so only two done today. About to start trying to record some of the soundtrack stuff.
Converting a bunch of the stuff for the Lost Kisses DVD. Hope to get everything ready pretty soon. 1 done, 5 half done, 7 to go.
Not sure what’s going on besides that. I’m trying to get things done pretty quickly on that….

Had a cool show last night at River City Arts. The majority of it was recorded, I’ll have to see how it sounded, but I think portions probably had too much crowd noise.
Tomorrow I’m doing a radio session tomorrow at 3pm on WCOM. It will be Small Life Form versus Slicnaton.
I think I finished mastering slicnaton versus small life form. Just gotta let it digest a little & see. I think with how filled up the sound spectrum is on it that it might sound totally different based on the speakers people listen through, which is both cool & uncool.
Got some more panels done for Lost Kisses #10. Only 16 panels to go! Then on to making them into cartoons & scoring them.
Did some follow-up for the mini-comics & found about 5 more reviews. It would be nice to figure out how to change reviews into sales.
Got the second leg of my April/May tour canceled. Gotta figure out what I want to do instead….
Got a small distro order I need to fill. It’s nice to know some stores are still ordering stuff. I still need to figure out about setting up my own digital download store.
Finished drawing Lost Kisses #10! Just gotta start scanning. Feeling pretty good on the comics end. I think things are going to start falling together pretty quickly. I’m planning for LK #11-20 to be a bit different than these first ten were.
Designed an ad for Ghettoblaster & got that sent in.
Seems like half the people I know are sick right now, trying to stay out of that mix.
Got the vocals recorded for Carnage Visors & sent off to Conor. It’s funny when I listen to a raw uneffected vocal track without the music it sounds pretty awful even if it seemed okay in the mix. I need to start doing my vocal exercises again.
Cleaned up the tracks for the one Carta song, but there’s been some kinda problem getting them delivered back. The internet doesn’t always work as conveniently as it is supposed to.
Working on mastering the slicnaton versus small life form studio recordings. Pretty great stuff I think & we’ll see what the world says when the beast is unleashed.
Got some recordings sent off for compilation appearances. Just wait to hear back on those things.
