So I just watched The Whole Wide World, which is about Robert E. Howard (Conan author). I don’t think it was historically accurate & I’m not even sure if it was emotionally accurate to Howard, but it did hit me a little closer to home than I wanted it to as far as not being able to work on art because of taking care of family members & the debate over if romantic relationships harbour creativity. While watching it I wrote the first draft of the bottom segments of Lost Kisses #8 & it is probably influenced by it a bit, but once the panel gags are put in things never seem so bleak. The guy really is a good writer (at least to me). But then I often think Joe R. Lansdale is the best living american author.
